The past month behind the scenes at Freckled Nest Design has been so much fun! Leigh-Ann and I have been settling into our new studio space, working hard and dreaming up plans for the future. Because of your amazing support, our existing team of three designers and two formatters has been booked into the spring and we needed to expand to help us grow with our clients.

Our new designers will be taking on clients starting in mid-February, and we're starting a whole new division of the company (Print & Commission Work) that will soon have it's own etsy store. Our team is divided into senior and intermediate designers, and all have been trained in our signature style- but they all have their own design passions and personalities so no matter who you are there's a FN Girl who will be your perfect match!

Leigh-Ann of Freckled Nest – Founder & Owner
My favorite websites are always the ones with a real-life feel to them. I love indie style and my mom says that I was born a treasure hunter… I adore that rush of the perfect vintage find and I strive to give that same feeling when you meet your new website! My style is vivid, vintage in the now, treasured, colorful and happy. My designs often include photographed vignettes along with a great pairing of fonts, pattern & texture, juicy colors and creative methods for navigating and portraying your special qualities & dream. Let’s break the mold together!

Mandi of Here's Looking At Me Kid
History has been a passion of mine since my childhood years of playing with American Girl dolls and visiting museums with my family. I love vintage fashion and decorating because of the imperfections and sense of history each item has, shown by the weathered edges, layers peeking through, and time honored designs.  This aesthetic is found in the core of my design style. It's really fun creating a modern website that carries the warmth of antiques, implementing lots of textures, layers, and elements found from years gone by. It all comes together by balancing a design with a bit of an off-beat edge that plays alongside a well organized and easy to navigate website.

I’ve always been passionate about storytelling, and my design inspiration almost always comes from dreaming up the best way to tell my client’s story at a glance through their design. I’m inspired by design that’s feminine and bright, playful and vivid- and I love collecting unique fonts, and using photographed vignettes or real life details in my designs. I’m a bit of a blogging, marketing, and tech geek, so I love taking the time to encourage and coach my clients so they feel confident and excited about their new designs!

Moorea of Moorea-Seal.com
My favorite websites are ones in which the blog author's personality shines through with a fresh, clean design. I bring a playful, modern, and illustrative flair to the blog designs I create and I am inspired by fashion, music, contemporary art, and the perfect grouping of color, font, and imagery. There is nothing more exciting for me than learning about the uniqueness of a new client, developing their perfect website…and gaining a new friend along the way!

Kelly Ann of The Flowerchild Dwelling
I am smitten with website & blog designs that make you want to reach out and touch them… I love texture! I am incredibly inspired by the 60s & 70s, and all things vintage. I always find myself gravitating towards anything with bohemian, western and native vibes. I love colours that have a sun washed feel, like they've been sitting in the sunshine for a while, but are still rich and vibrant. Forests, feathers, twigs & branches, mustard fields, and the ocean – all of these inspire me as a designer. I love connecting with people, helping them dream up a little blog world of their own, and making it a reality.

Elizabeth of Delightfully Tacky
My favorite websites evoke a sense of personality. I love sites that have hand-drawn elements and a unique feel. I think that adding handmade pieces to digital design warms up the overall look and creates a comfortable atmosphere. My aesthetic is a little bit kitschy with lots of vintage inspiration. My favorite thing about design work is creating a full branding for someone– learning about them and what they are like so I can design a complete package they'll love!

Jill of Lune Vintage
The inspiration for my design work draws from my experience with vintage print material such as album covers, magazine advertisements, tags, packaging, and pop culture ephemera. I like to incorporate these elements into a clean design that is easy to love, and grow with over time. My own blog is a good example of recent design work. I am most drawn to the gritty, bohemian styling of the late 60's and 70's, but am able and enthusiastic to work with other eras as well. Give me a vintage reference as a jumping point, and see how the inspiration unfolds to suit your wishes!

Once a blog design is completed, our designer passes it off to our formatting team, to launch the design on the client's site. Though our clients never meet them we want to make sure they get the fame they deserve because Joe, Michelle, Corey Marie & Dan are talented, professional and simply amazing! They settle for nothing but perfection and take our designs to the next level :)

Zoe of Pretty-Zoo.com
Hi! I'm Zoe- a graphic designer and illustrator from New Zealand living in Frankfurt, Germany, where I moved in August 2010 with my boyfriend.  My illustration and design work is inspired by a mixture of fashion, old flora & fauna sketches, vintage signage/newspapers and also gorgeous modern editorial design. I like to use clean, classic typography with a twist of color, interesting fonts and beautiful imagery to draw people in. I love design that has a little charm and really gives a sense of personality. I adore meeting and working with new people and really get excited about the challenge of creating the perfect design solution- my goal is to knock the clients socks off in the prettiest way!

For gorgeous identity pieces (logo design, packaging, business cards, catalogues and branded newsletters), event packages (invitations, menus, place cards for weddings, birthdays and showers), prints, posters, calendars, and anything else you can dream up, Zoe is your girl!

Leigh-Ann and I can't express how proud we are of our team- we're excited to call them our own! They're incredibly talented amazing artists and we know they're going to blow you away :)
