A couple of weeks ago we decided to try out a local gourmet hot dog place that opened up last year, called Dingo's Wild & Crazy Dogs. I got a mexican veggie dog with nacho chips, hot peppers, and sour cream on it, it was the size of my head! They even have soda tastings every week and will fast chill any of their specialty pops for you.
I haven't video blogged in a long time, so I brought my Flip video camera out for fun…
I love the cute little quick service places that are popping up in my city these days- and I love them even more because most are locally owned. There's even a little mexican market opening up around one of my favourite haunts!
This summer is shaping up beautifully.

I’m really loving it! I have the MinoHD and the quality is pretty good (not great, but good), it’s super portable & easy to pop into your bag. I’m a big fan! =)

There’s a hot dog place similar to that in Calgary that I went to with Jason a few months ago. I could barely get the thing in my mouth! I’m definitely jealous of that soda selection – it’s like a little room of heaven.

There is a place like that called Hot Doug’s here in Chicago. Lines are wrapped around the block for it!

Ohhh yum! I don’t eat hot dogs of the meat type because they are super scary, but I think maybe a veggie dog would be delicious. I love little local places like that that overflow with awesome!

awww Your video made me so nostalgic (homesick?) for Canadian brands. Like 7/11 (okok we have it here too, but it’s different) and CIBC (a bank! FUN!!!) and HOTDOGS! Seriously, they don’t exist in Australia -they’re all about sausages, blech- and a veggie dog from a street vendor is the one thing I didn’t get while in Vancouver. :-(
Also, I love local, one-off places like this. I luckily live in a neighbourhood with an absolute treasuere trove of unique, hidden and just plain fabulous places to eat, shop, etc. I love it.

Oh cuteness, I love the little video! I haven’t had a hot dog since I’ve been vegetarian (which has been for almost 3 years now) so my mouth was WATERING at the sight of those delicious looking things.

I love little locally owned shops, too! Every time I move to a new city, it’s the first thing I try to scope out. This was a cute video; I can’t get over the size of those hot dogs! (While I was watching the video, my pup kept turning her head from side to side in confusion and then tried to lick the screen, lol! She must approve, too.)

Oh, little bit of vomit in my mouth. There’s a place in Calgary called Tubby Dog that makes this kind of creation. Once a year for me. Tops.
lol Not a fan? I love fancier foods, but ball park fare is just as up my alley- I think the benefit of being a vegetarian is that you can have sushi and crazy hot dogs… and you’re still only really as adventurous as tofu :)

Mmmm Looks like one of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh: Fanctuary (a hot dog shop in the basement of a downtown church). I always get their mexican dog, who knew guacamole could be do good on a hot dog? Plus they make sure all their meat was locally raised, so that’s nice.

I saw in the video that there was a brand of Soda called “Stewards” they make a orange soda that tastes just like a creamsicle…. you gotta try it!! and those Hotdogs look AMAZING!!
I love Stewards too! High quality soda is a lot of fun, I love that they do tastings here once a week, such a cool idea!
