This weekend the Minnesota state fair was on, and while I had been planning & looking forward to go with some sweet friends, I didn't end up being able to go. Instead I worked and went on a mini road trip to go shopping in the US on Sunday so Amber could get everything she needs to set up her new apartment. We had a lot of fun & it was really nice to have a break from my normal weekend to be silly and girly on the road.
I didn't get to the state fair, but I was definitely dreaming of it- tomorrow I'm going to share some photos from last years trip & on Wednesday I'll share a peek into my weekend road trip :)

I actually went for the first time this past year because my boyfriend is from Hutchinson. I’m never missing it again! But luckily for you it’ll be there next year!
This post really, really makes me want to go to the fair now. The photos are making me smile and remember my childhood.

as a former minnesotan i can totally sympathize. what i miss most is aunt martha’s cookie jar and the all you can drink milk.

I was in a choir in high school called the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir. Each summer, we spent three weeks living in barracks on the Ohio state fairgrounds, performing around the fair up to six times a day. Also, I ate a corndog every day for two weeks. As a result, I hate corndogs & love state fairs.

Aw, that’s too bad! I know I’m always disappointed if I miss out on a fair. I’m going with my boyfriend to the fair next week, and I’m beyond excited, partly because well, it’s the fair, but also because this is the first year I’ll have my own money to bring and spend on whatever I want.
I enjoyed reading about Lisa, Amber, and Amber’s tweets about being a the fair and eating food on a stick. It made me homesick for the trip we all had last year. I MISS YOU!
I love going to the state fair! I can’t wait to go to this year’s in October. Hopefully it’ll be cooler by then because last year it was soo hot during the fair! Sounds like a nice girly weekend! Gotta have those every once a while. :)

Aw, it’s a bummer you had to miss the fair, but your weekend roadtrip sounds like it was really fun! I’m looking forward to the photos. I’m visiting my parents next weekend, a trip that coincides perfectly with my hometown’s county fair. I hope I have time to make it there – fairs are always so fun.
