I’m Kyla Roma – a twenty something girl living in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada!) under the biggest sky I’ve ever seen. I’m a life long vegetarian, black tea aficionado, puppy mama and wife. Somewhere along the way I developed a love for everything old fashioned- from thrifting and canning to gardening and crafting.

My husband (“Mister”) and I live in a tiny one hundred year old home affectionately called The Little House with our dogs, Ash & Mal. Mister is a dual citizen and I’m fascinated with all things American, him included. Among his super powers are an in depth knowledge of comics, and uncanny taste when it comes to cocktails & punk music. Also, he doesn’t even really mind when I bring home stray dogs, go on health kicks, or allow my hobbies to swallow rooms of our house whole.

I live in a small city surrounded by wheat and canola fields that stretch out farther than you can see, in a neighbourhood where we can walk to everything we need. Having local gastropubs, yoga studios, grocery stores & antique shops does my heart a lot of good. Winnipeg can be a hard place to live- in the summer it’s scalding hot and in the winter it’s frighteningly cold, but it’s always beautiful and the prairie sky is a part of me I could never leave.

Some of my favourite things are cheap hot chocolate, ugly shoes, lomo cameras, making people laugh, micro brewed beer, old Rolling Stones records, road trips, quoting grey gardens & joss whedon, kindness, alone time, good books, scrapbooking, old movies, vintage radio dramas, exploring new cities, being a bad grownup, foreign languages, loopy handwriting, street fashion, postcards, wood handled stamps, the history of ordinary people, homemade pizza, and snow storms.

I am actively seeking friends who are 80 years old in spirit :)
