The week has been wild and Leigh-Ann is safely away on her trip to Elsie’s wedding and then on to San Francisco! The theme of the week has definitely been travel, and getting ready to manage the business on my own until the end of May has been really exciting.
This Friday Finds is taking a page from my week and is hitting the road! I love traveling and can’t help be swept away by the idea of packing up vintage luggage, getting into a car with whitewall tires and traveling to teepee motels and chrome edged diners…

I love my little house, but since we re-painted our main floor (we is code for Jesse) I’ve been a little nail shy when it comes to our walls. So much of our home is a collection of things from past apartments, and while it all goes together I want to have a home that looks tailored.
Because I’ve been spending too much time on Pinterest, gazing starry eyed at spaces like this:

With the royal wedding having happened today, I’m a little over all of the hype that’s been building up around it and while I didn’t wake up this morning to watch it I couldn’t resist doing a Friday Finds post on it!
I got married shortly after I started my blog and really didn’t write about my wedding planning a lot- mostly because I planned it in four months, and we had a sweet little dinner party with under thirty people. While it was perfect for us, I still love the chance to find beautiful wedding related items on etsy…

By my calculations it’s supposed to be almost May, but as demonstrated by the prairie hail storm earlier in the week there is still some sincere dreariness hanging around! This will not stand! I’m hoping that it clears up soon, but in the mean time I wanted to have a collection of etsy finds that will brighten things up a little…
I was playing on pinterest yesterday when I came across a beautiful photo that stopped me in my tracks:

Isn’t it beautiful? Ever since I saw it I couldn’t get over the colour combination- it’s so preppy and spring! I thought it would be fun to try a Friday Finds that’s inspired by the pairing, so I scoured the world of Etsy and put together my own take…
Life Update: There’s been so much going on that it’s been a light posting week around here, but I have exciting plans for next week- and enough time to take photos, get cooking, and write like crazy. Yesterday I had all the colour in my tattoo finished so only the owl is left to do! Leigh-Ann was sweet enough to take some beautiful photos before it starts healing, so I’m going to be able to show your the progress.
Since I’ve been mostly exploring this week instead of telling stories, I thought it would be appropriate to have Friday Finds go off the map…

I’m so excited that spring is finally coming to the prairies! The sun is warm, the snow is melting and it feels like everything is bathed a halo of sunshine.
Except for during the flurries we had last night.
But aside from that, I’m loving that the summer sun is starting to gain it’s strength back and I’m already dreaming of repairing my bike and hitting the streets when it warms up a little more.
This morning I work up really excited to go through etsy and come up with a beautiful Friday Finds post- but when the alarm on the radio came on I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! I found a beautiful Japanese themed treasury that seemed more appropriate than putting something together myself.
