We planted our garden late this year- but it’s in the ground and ready to become dinner soon. I love having fresh veggies to pick out of the backyard, and this year I’m trying some new plants- including kale and eggplant!
I wanted to show the progress so far, but I’ve never been able to get a picture that shows the garden all in one frame, and having lots of small photos makes it look more like I live on a small farm! I thought a fun way to show you around would be by making a quick video from right after we put the garden in…

For the past few months I’ve been tracking how I spend my work days with a really cool application called Klock (a great free alternative is Toggl) and it’s been helping me make sure I’m spending my time wisely and helping me get an idea of how long my projects take me. But a funny side effect is that it’s make me very aware of how I’m spending all of my time, not just when I’m working. Now that it finally feels like spring in the Canadian Prairies (guys, it’s actually WARM here now!! Flowers are budding!) I’ve been getting excited to do some spring cleaning, only this year I’ve gone a little non-traditional.

Sometime when I get an idea in my head it’s extremely difficult for me to let go of, and after two summers of looking I’m so excited to finally own a powder blue 1970′s Schwinn Suburban! Last summer I didn’t put many miles on my bike outside of the weekends because most of its cables and components are original, which made breaking a part of the experience that I couldn’t exactly count on.
But I’ve been wanting to get my little cruiser updated and made functional so badly that it hurts!

Ash and Mal are three years old today, and we’ve been trying to figure out how their crates fit into our lives for a little while. We never kennel them during the day, but their kennels have been their over night spaces since they were puppies. Jesse works outside the province for one week a month, so last month when he was traveling I decided to see how an overnight without the kennels would go.

This has been such a fun week- Leigh-Ann got home from her birthday road trip late on Sunday night and we were so excited to see each other, catch up, and get back into our normal groove of working together at the studio that it set the tone for the whole week. It’s been laughing and dancing between all the client work we’re doing- and it’s just been an amazing time.

I’m trying to start the week – and every day – with the right mind set, so I keep my priorities in mind and I’m always acting from the right place. For me that means…

I feel like if I could just keep these things in mind, no matter what happened I would have an amazing week.
I’m going to try my best until it’s effortless. I’m aiming for annoyingly upbeat + positive ;)
Do you have a wish for this week?

News Flash: I’m still here! :)
This week I took an unintended three days off from posting in the first time in so long I can’t remember- I think it’s been over a year! Blogging is so much a part of my life and passion that it was so strange to take a mini-holiday but I’m feeling rested up, refreshed and excited to tackle it with new energy. Instead of Weekly Weak Knees, today I’m going to show you a little of what I’ve been up to this week…

Today I’m being featured as a guest teacher on Indie Business 3.0, and I’ve written a heifer of a post about working with Etsy. That’s prairie talk for a big one!
No seriously, drive 20 mins in any direction in this city and you’re in a wheat field ;)

My fingers are recovering today but I have a really exciting week of posts planned, including a DIY where I make over my glasses & an interview with an amazing jewelry designer who has all kinds of advice for starting on your own creative path! I feel a new feature coming on…
