“Tiling Is For Bloggers”

sleeping

I’ve been working on launching a few new blog design projects over the past week, which has meant some really late nights and on Sunday I started sleep talking about web design. It was such a funny way start to the day that I had to share it here!

Jesse tried to wake me up on Sunday morning and I woke up enough to talk… without being awake. Our conversation went like this:

J: “Hey Ky, are you getting up?”

K: “……what kind of a background do you use for inspiration?”

J: “What do you mean?”

K: “A background. What kind of a background do you want?”

J: “For what?”

K: “A background is like…the back of a picture.”

J: “Ok”

K: “Do you want it to tile?”

J: “Do I want what to tile?”

K: “Oh, I forgot you don’t have a blog, tiling is for bloggers”

And that’s I woke up to my husband laughing so hard he was almost falling off the bed! You heard it here first: apparently all the cool kids have tiled backgrounds ;)

Haha, I love it! Husband thinks it’s hilarious when I talk in my sleep.

Speaking of blogs, when you have free time, I’d love to get some basic information on how I should go about starting sponsorships on my blog.

Hahaha, love it! Oh my gosh, that’s fabulous! I’m a sleep talker indeed, but sleep talking about design is even more awesome!

My favorite is that you opened with, “What kind of a background do you use for inspiration?” Cute. Take a breather, kid! Sounds like you’re working too hard. :)

Haha, sleep-talking is the best… and obviously, you were so wrapped up in the designing that you took your thoughts back to bed ;)

I love it.

A few weeks ago Knight got up to go to the bathroom and when he came back I apparently said “did you bring me the penguins?” and he was all “What penguins?” and apparently I got super mad and said “THE PENGUINS. Why didn’t you bring them?” and then huffed/sighed and went back to sleep. I don’t remember any of it. Nor do I remember the dream…

Oh girl, I hear ya! I have TOTALLY done that about work-stuff/school-stuff when I was really stressed out/busy before and then I would get angry at Eric for not understanding what I was talking about – all in my sleep of course. Haha!

Hope you get some rest this week :)

Haha I did something similar on New Years Eve. I fell asleep around 11 and at midnight when my fiance tried to wake me up, I kept saying I was awake and I kept reaching for my glass of champagne…But I wasn’t even looking in the right direction haha.

Cute photo but I totally talk in my sleep like this too! My husband says we’ve had small discussions like this before and he always has a good laugh about it in the morning asking if I remember (I don’t) and then tells me all about it. The weekend before our wedding I told him to stay away from the fireplace because of the birds. Um, why? We have a fireplace but never an issue with birds. So silly. :)

That’s so funny! My brother and dad both sleep talk – they even get out of bed and look awake (they’re not actually sleepwalking, I don’t think) and try to have a conversation with you. It’s so funny to actually witness.

he he – too cute!! :) I dream about work *all the time* after working on something repetitive for a long time – I have yet to sleep-talk about it, but my husband always sleep-talks in the morning, it’s the funniest! lol.

He SIGNS in his sleep? Oh my gosh, Tyler wins for coolest ever! lol That’s so cool! I love that everyone mutters in their sleep- even if it’s with their hands :)

Haha, yep! It’s weird because he didn’t learn sign language until 8th grade and not too long after that he started signing in his sleep. His family doesn’t know sign language so they had no clue what he was saying if they saw him signing in his sleep.

A few friends of mine and I had a discussion about this before if we dream in sign language or not. For me I don’t think I sign in my dreams but it’s more like reading each other’s minds and understanding each other. It’s so weird & confusing!

This is such a cute and funny story. It’s crazy when you go to sleep still seeing the stuff you’ve been working on all day! Sleep-talking about work is a new thing to me, though!

ha! Kyla this is the cutest story! many moons ago I used to work as a telemarketer and I sold pantyhose over the phone. my guy at the time did the same thing. he would wake me up in the middle of the night and try to sell me nylons. worse than that, when I worked at Tim Hortons I would treat my bedside wall as a drive thru window and shake my boyfriend awake to get me a double double stat! these are all sure signs that we might be working just a touch too hard & too much. <3

Haha!! I love sleep talking stories. They are always funny!!!
One time I woke up in the middle of talking in my sleep because I heard my own voice and it woke me… I was responding to my husband who was also talking in his sleep! I heard him say “Should we do that?” and I must have been at the edge of dreaming and awake and I said “Yeah, we should.” while opening my eyes and realizing what just happened. I wonder how many conversations we have that we don’t even know about!?
