I’ve been playing host to one of my best friends in the world this weekend, and it’s been an amazing time. Showing Amber my little city has been so much fun- it’s like seeing it through new eyes. It’s so amazing to show her my favourite haunts & all the places I’ve been telling her about since we met while I was traveling six years ago.
Yesterday we got her the cutest tattoo- the word smile on her trigger finger for when she’s taking pictures! And I got a new piercing that I’m kind of in love with. Today we’re going for a big brunch, followed by thrifting & taking a zillion pictures.
…and then I’ll be hiding all her photo ID so she has to stay. She has the prettiest dresses, knows all the same obscure movies as I do, and stayed up late playing NES games with me! Can you really blame me?

That is a cute idea for a tattoo. But out of curiosity, doesn’t it hurt really bad to get a tattoo there?

I can’t remember what I talked about in Minne… but it’s a second nose piercing, just on the other side of my nose :)

I wish I could get my nose pierced again! But for my school program, I had to remove it — not professional enough for them I guess. :(

I got a second nose piercing, one of the other side- it’s really little and cute! And it didn’t hurt as much as I remember, I think I was a bit of a wuss when I got my first one done! lol
her tattoo is so cute! i’ve wanted to get a finger tattoo forever but every tattoo artist i go see tells me it’s not the best place to get it since it will probably fade really quickly in that area….so i got it on my rib cage.
may go back and get it anyways…we’ll see!

Amber really lucked out- the guy who was available actually specializes in these so she’s feeling really confident in how it’s been done. Have you blogged your rib cage tattoo? I would love to hear about that!

I had an amazing tour guide mentor!! lol I kept telling Amber about how you showed us the city & how much fun it was, so now when I tell her about the city while we’re driving or take us to a great restaurant we’re calling that “A Lisa”, as in “This one’s going to be a real Lisa”. It’s our slang for a local stamp of approval :)

Sounds like a lovely visit from a good friend! I miss those, lol. Nothing more wonderful than being around good people that know how to have fun and who understand you. I love showing people around my town, it makes me appreciate it a lot more and see it really differently…
