Friday Finds are night out necklaces

Lately all I can think about is jewelery- over sized feminine necklaces and rings, perfect for wearing out on a date, while grabbing tapas or catching up with friends after a long week. I think this is a case of wanting what I can’t have- my jewelery tends to be very subtle and light, but these are making me want to change it up!

priscilla ribbon and chain necklace from twillypop – $50

crochet knit and stones necklace from Orithidad – $360

dahlia statement bib from Fresh Metal – $42

silver linen necklace from Cynamonn- $36

Do you wear large accessories or delicate ones?

I am TERRIBLE at wearing jewelry. I always think it looks silly on me, but I love statement jewelry on everyone else. So I need to work on tapping into more confidence and just wearing bold pieces…

This is why I am enlisting the help of you ladies later this month. I need accessoris 101. :)

Oh I love big, chunky necklaces like that! I really like the flower one!

Love these! You should check out Morado’s shop on Etsy – she makes all her jewelry out of polymer clay and it’s beautiful! She has some necklaces similar to those you featured. Happy weekend!

These are all so pretty! I rarely wear lots of jewelry, and when I do it’s usually delicate or small pieces, or something with just one chunky gem/pendant.

I adore statement necklaces and such on others, but when it comes down to it I feel funny wearing them. I have many pieces I’ve never really worn because of this. How silly!

I did really like that mermaid farts necklace you tweeted about, though. So funny!

These are so gorgeous! I especially love the bottom two. Good eye, Kyla! (as usual)

I so want to be a big accessory girl, but I feel like every time I put on a big statement necklace, it overpowers me. Maybe I need to ease myself into it? On the other hand, I do love delicate stuff, so I’m not really complaining.

OMG. That crochet necklace makes me SWOON. Learn to make those! $360??? You’ll be rich in no time. :)

I can go either way–I think delicate and statement pieces both have a place in my wardrobe :) After you posted the Mermaid Fart (!!) necklace on Twitter yesterday, I was looking through the rest of that sellers items and absolutely fell in love with the antique key necklaces. I’m trying to resist!!

LOVE that last one! Want.

I go back and forth between wearing “Statement” pieces (though I almost always wear a fun ring on the weekends) and casual more relaxed jewelry. Maybe we should find some statement pieces later this month!?

The nice thing about big chunky necklaces is that you can try making one yourself out of pretty cheap material (there’s a tutorial here that you might find interesting to modify into a headband; Rachel’s ideas are great! http://heart-of-light.blogspot.com/2009/06/ruffly-headband-tutorial.html)

Lately I’ve been into wearing no jewelry and letting my features stand out, but when I do wear jewelry it tends to be subtle and delicate. I admire large accessories on other people, but I’ve come to terms with the fact that it’s just not me.

Gosh. These are gorgeous and exactly the type of necklaces I would wear. That said, I like the big almost bib-like necklaces.

I love the flower one! Definitely my style even though I don’t wear a lot of jewelry. I actually delicious bookmarked a cool knot necklace from cosa verde that I love the other day: http://cosaverde.com/store/aaliciahandmadeaccessories/6361/

I think the simplicity makes it so beautiful.

I’ve been really into chunky, beaded necklaces lately and have found some great ones on etsy! Man, those people are so talented!

I think I’m in love with all of these! I like wearing chunky, fun jewelry when going out, makes it kind of a statement piece! And lately I can’t seem to get enough of them – don’t think I can get away with it at my boring, corporate job though!

I tend to wear ‘delicate’ jewelry – but I love the look of big statement pieces!

I see them in the magazines and in stores, but never buy them. I’m always drawn to smaller pieces.

In fact, I’m looking for a delicate and simple gold necklace…something vintage looking maybe? So, if you run across anything (that’s not too expensive) send the link my way!

Have a wonderful weekend!

I love these! The first picture proves that a cute cotton or knit top + a chunky necklace, can go a long way. Great finds darling!

I’m not really one to accessorize – other than a scarf here or there. My earrings are always the same, I have a watch and two sets of rings. Accessories tend to scare me; there are so many possibilities!

Those necklaces do make me dream of a different me though.

Ugh, I love all of these – particularly the most expensive of the bunch, of course! I always wear big jewelry. When I was bald, it was big earrings. Now that I’ve got hair again, it’s big necklaces.

(Also, unfortunately that Cynnamon necklace is actually $70…)

I wear this really chunky necklace with strapless dresses. I receive plenty of compliments on it. Everyone asks if it’s heavy but it is really light. I love it! I think large chunky necklaces go great with strapless dresses because the necklace becomes the centerpiece of the entire outfit.

Ohhhhhh, so purdy. I love chunky, heavy jewelry but I don’t feel like I can pull it off very well. Most of my jewelry is on the delicate side for this reason. I’d love to find a bold piece like one of these, though!

Super cute! It really depends on my mood. Usually if I have one big accessory I don’t wear others…or I”ll wear a few small things :)

I LOVE jewelry…pretty much any style! I sell Stella and Dot jewelry so I have WAY too much!

I have a few delicate pieces but it’s bad because almost ALL of my jewelry is statement…I LOVE huge necklaces, earrings, rings and cuffs.
And I am not against wearing rhinestones or pearls in the daytime!

I am a firm believer of confidence when you wear a statement piece, if you believe it works, why would anybody question it??

I LOVE those necklace you showed…especially the flower one…I have a few sweaters and one dress with necklines covered in flowers like that!

I wish I had clothes to wear with fun statement necklaces…I wish I were a fun statement necklace kind of girl actually, but I just never seem to make it work. The necklace in the top left corner is stunning! Your tweet yesterday about the Mermaid Fart necklace gave me a good laugh yesterday. I passed the link onto so many people :)

I love the top left one! I own a few large necklaces but rarely wear them. I don’t quite know what to wear them with/how to make them work. Most of the time my look is too casual for a large necklace.

I love wearing either really huge pieces, or tiny delicate pieces, nothing in between!

Soooooooo pretty! I tend to buy a lot of necklaces, but I always end up wearing the same ones every day, haha.
