Six Months + Six Dresses: Number Four

by Kyla Roma on July 29, 2010

in challenges, Hands On!, six months six dresses

It’s dress sharing time again- and I can’t believe I only have two months left! Is the summer that far along already? Maybe this winter I’ll have to do Six Months + Six Parkas… though, somehow the appeal just isn’t the same.

Dress number four isn’t just thrifted, it’s also a walk on the wild side for me. I’m not much of a prints person, I tend to stick to layers of light solid colours instead, but just for fun I tried stepping out of my comfort zone a little.

Also, I swear the lighting here is a little weird, and that I’m not one of the Cullen’s.

Dress – thrifted for $7

Switching to thrift shopping for my dresses has been such a relief, I’m getting to the point in summer where travel plans and major purchases have been made so I’m light on spending money for fun “just for me” things. But $7 I can definitely do!

The girls who have been playing along with me are just too cute for words, so I thought I’d show you some of my favourite pictures of theirs so far – click on their pictures to visit them.

Alarmingly cute, no? Told ya so! :)

Wondering what Six Months + Six Dresses is? I’m revamping my summer closet by buying & showing a new dress for six months. If you like you can moonlight for a month or play for the whole meme – grab a badge from my sidebar & play along!

I feel like finding the perfect dress at a thrift shop is the ULTIMATE find.

Although, I can’t lie. I haven’t gone thrifting for myself, in probably 4 years. How sad is that?? I wouldn’t even attempt to find a dress that fits me.

This post took me back though, to when I found my very favorite dress of all time, at the Goodwill Bins in Portland Oregon. The dress must have cost all of 25 cents, and… oh it was just perfect. My favorite dress for years.

I love your pictures, by the way, Miss lady. Standing against that fence and looking oh so adorable, as always.

I absolutely LOVE this, and think I may start the same soon. Maybe next month? I’m also afraid of crazy prints like this and my girlfriends pull it off all the time – as do you! I think the thick, solid belt helps add some dimension to it, but you’re just altogether so lovely!

You’re adorable! Prints look great on you, and a dress for $7, you’re my new budgeting hero! :)

I think you pull off the print dress quite superbly! I’m not much of a print person, myself. This summer I broke away from black and neutrals, I’ve been rocking some bright colors. Its fun to break out of the norm.

We need a Six Months: The Skirt Edition ;) I would SO participate. I need skirts like it’s nobody’s business.

I love your dress, the belt really gave it that extra sass. Super cute.

I love love LOVE your print dress, and you look absolutely adorable in it. The other girls’ dresses are super cute, too. Gah, I wish I had played along with this the whole time. But I’ll be spending four days in Vegas in a couple weeks, and I plan on wearing dresses just about every day. I’ll try to take some pictures and maybe I’ll just have a “Four days four dresses” sorta post. :-P

I’m terrified of prints, but you pull it off so well! The solid belt evens things out. :) I’ve loved doing this meme, and I need to photograph my July dress tomorrow or Saturday and post it.

So funny that another Tia posts AND she got her favorite dress in Portland!

I don’t buy many dresses because I am an odd shape, but I have gotten a few lately and I get compliments every time I wear them. I love seeing all of the photos of the other girls on your blog, because it made me realize that dress+belt=awesome and I should totally try it!

So… I’m going to jump on the bandwagon! I’ve been thinking about it for quite some time but have purposefully been waiting until my latter dresses will be in the winter months. I <3 dresses but found myself without weather-appropriate dresses this past winter. This way I think I'll get some summer, fall, and winter dresses!
