five more minutes?

by Kyla Roma on March 29, 2010

in Her Life

To say that last week was a roller coaster would an understatement.

It started out horribly, comically bad. Melodramatically, unabashedly bad. Panic inducing, press release writing bad. And then mid week, it became incredibly, wonderfully good. Fairy godmother good. The kind of good that picks you up and whispers to you that those things you’ve been dreaming about? They’re happening. Right here. Immediately. And you’re going to rise to the occasion like you know that you can.

So this weekend when I sat down to write? Forgive me, but my mind is still swimming. So I’m drawing the curtains to keep the sun out, and I’m putting my sleeping mask back on until I’m rested and ready for the world.

I need five more minutes, and then I’ll be ready for the week.

Just five more, I promise.

I felt that way this morning when my alarm went off. That horrible, nasty feeling when you’ve realized it’s just the beginning of the week. But then, you have a second realization, that it’s the beginning of a new week. One you’ve been blessed to be a part of. Okay, that’s all I’ve got for inspiration. It’s Monday, give me a break. :)

I love that attitude, that the week is a gift. I can think of things like my morning coffee as a gift but sometimes I roll over and all I can offer is “really? But…yea no…” and go back to bed.

Would you like to be my life coach? We could totally do it over skype. =)

Anyone that has even read a single post here on your blog would be able to tell you the same thing as your fairy godmother: you can rise to any occasion! I honestly have so much faith in you it’s crazy, you are an inspiration by how capable you consistently show yourself to be. Have a net cuddle for all the crappy you had to endure at the start of the week, because regardless of whether it’s still present or not my heart hurt for you hearing of it…so it’s a selfish cuddle really. To make me feel better, for you. :)

I know the feeling dear. Take your five (or even fifteen) minutes and sleep in a little longer. Sending you hugs!

Oh, how this post spoke to me this morning. Five more minutes would be wonderful (probably for most of the world). Take all the extra sleep/relaxation you need! You know we’ll always be here (in the we-love-you kind of way, not the creepy stalkerish kind of way) :)

Enjoy your five more minutes, lady. :)

oh. my. gosh. story of my life right now. I was so good yesterday getting all the things done I needed to do instead of wallowing on the couch with Dr. Quinn…and I even made my girls truffles for tomorrow! …but all I get for it is insomnia. fail, life. fail.

I think this post pretty much sums up the last couple of WEEKS for me, in terms of needing “just five more minutes” before I’m ready to put anything worthwhile on my blog. There’s too much going on, too many things I CAN’T share, and I keep sitting down to post something and nothing wants to come. Soon…I really hope. But hey, I’m catching up on other people’s blogs! That’s good, right? :)

Oh gosh! I totally would give my big toe for five minutes of NOTHING. And knowing when the five minutes started that NOTHING would interrupt it. I don’t know if it’s spring or what, but I feel like the treadmill started before I was even thinking about going for a run.
