crafty tapes

1. Old Book Masking Tape by PrettyTape – $15.50
2. Dark Colours A by studiokoizumi – $16
3. Weekdays three roll set by downtownfabrics – $10
4. Teal Grid Set by happytape – $22
5. Light Set of Five by washimatta- $16.25

Over the past year I’ve been swapping a lot of mail with and one of the things that has bothered me is feeling like everything I send out just isn’t that pretty. I’d heard murmurs about Japanese masking tape on twitter, and being a scrapbooker I was intrigued but had a hard time tracking down any that wasn’t on english language websites…and then I tried etsy.

I know this is a little discovery but I got an order in from happy tape this week, and it makes me ridiculously happy. I had to share! I’m slowly working on my getting my craft skillz up to where I want them and this is the perfect motivation. I can’t wait to send out another round of cards…

I love the colors and the old book tape! Can’t wait to see what you do with that. Because my crafy side is seriously lacking, I always look at stuff like that and think, Yesss I’m going to go buy that and then have absolutely no idea what to do with it.

Have a great weekend, dear!

Is there a trick to getting the comment love to work? I never seem to be able to figure it out. Just wondering.

Oh! If there is you got it on the second try =) You should just have to tick the check mark beside the comment luv box & then it’ll generate your last post right there before you publish.

The trick is not making your packages so pretty that the mail people steal them away for themselves! hahaha. I’m quite certain you send really lovely stuff, even before this shipment of tape!

I have never thought about masking tape as a way to personalize letters. What a neat idea! Now I just wish I sent out more letters. ;)

I love the days of the week tape! How cool is that!? I used to spend a bit more time on the cards I send out but lately I’m just so excited to get them in the mail (and hope they get there at a reasonalb time), I don’t do anything special. Maybe I should go back to spending more time on it…

Happy Friday!

I used to work for the postal service (in the summers) in Germany and my favorite part of the job was delivering really nice personal packages/letters to people. It made me happy to know that someone would be really happy about that piece of mail!

This is a neat idea… I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
I am a sucker for snailmail! :)

I’m not super crafty but definitely wish I were! I tried scrapbooking once and never finished (which is just as well since that guy and I aren’t together anymore lol!!)

Umm, I might sound stupid, but what is it you use this tape for? Sorry, I am not the craftiest person and this is the first time I’ve seen this kind of tape.

Ohh! I have that first one!!! I also have a few more. Although I bought them off some website that had a TON of them, not an Etsy store. Hmmm…must find that site again :)

So my knowledge is lacking – what exactly do you use this totally awesome tape for? The prices certainly sound right.

Well I haven’t been able to sit down and really dig in with it, but I want to use it in scrapbooking, card making, journaling, and in packaging up the snail mail I send out!

Cute! Anything I mail is usually covered in old fashioned stickers, making it look like a 5 year old sent it. :)

I would never have thought there would be enough interest in masking tape for lots of designs to be made but they are very pretty!

Those are really cute! I would quite like to wrap presents with plain white or black wrapping paper and then use decorative tape to seal them up. It’s the little touches that do it.
