Fridays are for…engagements & daydreams

Friday is for…

…beautiful, amazing friends getting engaged – congrats Em!!!

…watching Franz Ferdinand play their hearts out, climb the sound cables up to a balcony in the theatre, and have my ears still ringing 24+ hours after the show.

…bottoming out & bucking up.

…kenneling the dogs for the first time.

…daydreaming of State Fairs, college football, kettle corn, and other assorted Americana.

…giving a blog award away, like the above that was given to me by the incredibly wonderful concrete and honey! The deal is you name 10 things about yourself & give the award to 10 blogs you love.

blog+award

  1. I can ride horses that move as fast sideways as they do forwards.
  2. In my mind I think that I could be a successful florist, jewelry designer, wedding planner, dessert chef, writer or photographer if the right set of circumstances blew through my life.
  3. My mom spent a lot of time in India on personal travel when I was little (under 7).
  4. I used to know how to write the alphabet in Hindi.
  5. I worry that if I don’t go somewhere exotic before I have kids I’ll want to leave them when they’re little, even though I know that’s not how I’m wired.
  6. I always secretly thought I could convince Mister to get sleeves & we could be an alterna-couple but he’s not the tattooing kind.
  7. We aren’t really all that “alternative” either, but I can dream. I have my nose pierced & own Get Up Kids albums. Is that worth 10 points?
  8. I watched an episode of Ghosthunters in July where they pronounced a house “haunted’ & had nightmares about ghosts for over a month. It was so worth it.
  9. There is a whole area of horror cinema that I classify as “Cinema Things-jumping-out-from-behind-other-things” that I can’t watch. I hate that kind of suspense.
  10. If you dared me, I could happily live on vegetarian sushi.

I’m tagging blogs I love that you might not be reading but should be….Awmb (my bestie from Van city), Rugged Fox (prairie boy gone costal), iced jasmine tea (Portland yogi & food enthusiast), rumination reading room (extremely well spoken, well dressed, photogress), Miel et Cannell (Canadian stunner moving east to take over the world), Part of life is having a good ponytail (It’s true! And she’s hilarious, and has probably beat you in a race if you run), dog-eared (bits of style & reflection), beauty that moves (visions of a crafty life with kids in rural looking somewhere that makes me swoony), made sweet (beautiful design & moments from a charming looking life), you are my fave (so beautiful, you need to subscribe now).

Wow friday sounds so productive! I like going to concerts and just release some of the energy while I’m jumping up and down and screaming loudly like a kid :)

Ps. I can totally see you as wedding planner and dessert chef :)

Ok, ONE – I JUST went through my reader all trying to SIMPLIFY things and I think I’m saving at least 4 of these.

TWO – I’d KILL to get sleeves, so I’ll be your alternative girlfriend. I have a nose piercing and own Sex Pistols albums. That counts too, right?

PS – #2? I bet you can do that :)

darling face, I do adore you so. i switched my nose stud out for a ring yesterday.. the promptly came home and swapped them back. I’ve reached my limit of alterna, and it appears to be a stud and blue/purple/pink hair. *chuckle* Have fun in minni this weekend, can’t wait to hear about it. xo

So, there are certain artists whose music I may know, but whom I’ve never seen in concert. And some of these artists, I’m certain would be outstanding to see live. Franz Ferdinand falls into that category of artist. Thank you for confirming such! Have a lovely weekend!!!

Have a wonderful weekend Kyla!! Your Friday sounds lovely (although I am not so sure about this bottoming out, hope all is ok dear). I think you could do anything like being a photographer, writer, or any of those other aspirations. I can’t watch Ghost Hunters either.

I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be a florist, too. I don’t know why, either, but the quaintness of it appeals to me.

You can have 10 points, but that’s all you get.

So jealous about Franz Ferdinand. I love them! Bet it was an amazing show though.

    Enjoy your weekend.

Cute post. I’m so nervous to kennel my dog for the first time. I would rather bring her whereever I go then kennel her ~ even if she’s not allowed :)

    Friday is a good day… :)

I just started thinking about how funny it would be if my G didn’t have any tattoos or anything when you said that about your mister. But I think it would only be weird if he was still him and didn’t have any, if he were different personality-wise I’m sure it wouldn’t seem that way…

    Love you…

“I can ride horses that move as fast sideways as they do forwards.”

I don’t know if I’m just overly tired, but this visual gave me a headache. And it just took me way too long to figure out how to spell visual.

I love Franz Ferdinand! I met my boyfriend at one of their gigs. He looked over at me, and asked if he could lift me up on his shoulders. We had been secretly eye-stalking each other all throughout the festival, he had been sneaking glances at me in the reflection of his mobile phone and my friend had been calling him “my boyfriend” all day. And now he is :) I was only so far into the moshpit as a joke with her, to “get close to him.” When he actually acknowledged me, put me up on his shoulders, kissed my forehead and told me how gorgeous I was and found me on facebook the next day I kind of thought I was dreaming.

And there is hearty love story for your comments box, haha, since I love reading all of your stories. :)

Hope the dogs do okay at the kennel… Kenneling for the first time is uber-scary in my humble opinion.
