Vegas was unbelievable – so exactly what I needed. I was at a place where I was dying for adventure and needed more than anything to get away. Breaking out on my own and diving into a sink or swim situation put a lot of things in perspective for me – on who I think I am and on who I am when push comes to shove.

More than anything, Vegas was about love. Jump up and down, laughing love – of the people around you, for filling in the gaps between the Issue & Opinion Posts and finding out what someone does for a job, what kind of gelati they like, what their favourite band is. Vegas bridged the gap between the bloggers we imagine when we’ve been reading for so many months and the people who write those blogs.

There is too much to say – so much that a number of times I was asked to put introspecting on hold until I got on the plane. Thank you to my frigginamazing roomies who I am completely taken by, thank you to everyone who went and thank you to everyone who was gracious enough to listen in on all of us on our blogs and on twitter for the past few weeks.

I woke up yesterday morning and felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, and when I read your blogs I can can’t help but feel so happy to have shared some time with you. How is it that knowing how you fix your hair, how your high-fives change when you’ve had too much to drink, how you look at your fiance or husband, or what your voice sounds like when you’re really laughing makes you so much more dear to me?

You guys reminded me of how much fun there is to be had, and of it’s value. You reminded me that I should be laughing more, bringing more joy into people’s lives, and compromising my heart less.

Good people can be so hard to find in life. It’s amazing what being around 25 of them for a weekend can do for your heart. From the bottom of mine, thank you all so much.

I’m so glad it was a good trip… it looks like you had a blast!

P.s. LOVE the bangs… they really suit you!

It looks (and sounds) like it was such an amazing trip. Thanks for sharing it with us, Kyla. :) I can’t imagine what it would be like to put a voice to the words.

I love this post Kyla. I’ve only met a few bloggers to date but hope to meet more as time goes on (including the wonderful Nora), hopefully someday that includes you. This blogger meet up sounds like it was fantastic, even though I wasnt physically there I am so glad that I get to share in a little piece of it by reading about everyone’s experience. You have summed it up so beautifully. Thank you for sharing!

I’ve not met up with any bloggers in ages…but I must say I met one of my dearest friends and my Boy through blogs and it’s wonderful!

It looks like you guys had an amazing time. The pictures were fantastic – it’s so neat that everyone got to finally meet!

You are beautiful, as is everyone else I should have gone to meet! I’m even more determined to go next time, and to meet all of you!

Lovelovelove!

I’m so jealous!!! You all have to do this again ~ when my funds aren’t tied up in wedding stuffs! :)

Aww you were a perfect roommate. I’m so glad you were able to stay with us so we could get to know you more! ITA with you about the “love” comment. It was all about love and being with people who are as excited and adventurous as you are. Totally agree.

So I’m back to work and now I’m CRYING at my desk.

Lovely post from a LOVELY person. I still can’t believe I met you! I MET YOU! And now I can’t wait until we reunite again since you are a real life friend, not just a blog friend, someone I hold near and dear to my heart and just am so thrilled that we had a chance to be together, to hang out, to chat, to learn about each other, to laugh. I could go on and on… but suffice to say you’re a beautiful person inside and out.

Miss you terribly.

xoxoxo
Your Nora =)

Awww, that was so sweet :) And I can’t say this enough, I LOVE YOUR HAIR.

This is a beautiful post doll. I’m glad you all had such a fantastic time (and I’m a little bit jealous). I’m just putting it out there now that the next meet up be in Canada — in one of our two months of summer. :)

wow. who knew vegas could be so toucing :)

I was jealous when I heard some of my book club buddies (jess & allie) were going on this trip and they were excitedly telling me who was all going. I said I’d enact a full on girl-crush if I met you and now I hope they have done so in my place!

I wish so many of you could come to Chicago later this month for the 20sb meetup but I’m guessing one trip a month is plenty for everyone.

Reading everyone’s recaps seriously makes me teary eyed. So much of this weekend was a complete and total fairytale, i’m still in disbelief.

Each and everyone of the girls on the trip took home a piece of my heart when we left Vegas on Sunday. It was an incredible experience and i’m so just in awe of every single person.

It was AMAZING spending time with you and I can not wait to do it again, i’m missing you already!

That was such a great pictoral post. Loved it. (And holy crap, you’re gorgeous! Ha.)

Wow! It’s so cool that you guys had such a great time!

The tears are flowing now; your recap was beautiful. You said in words what I’ve been feeling the entire time I was on this trip. From the moment I walked into the buffet on Friday, I saw your face & I was like, OMG SHE’S REAL!!! Remember I hugged you twice? =] It was just surreal, to be there with you — with everyone! — & to feel so comfortable, so confident, & so embraced by everyone.

I wish you & I could have hung out just a little bit more, but I am so grateful for the time we had together. Talking to you in that amazing restaurant was one of the highlights of my trip. You are EXACTLY the way you are in your blog in person. You are so sweet & radiant, I seriously wanted to take you home with me!

Either way, I am so glad that I had the chance to sit down & chat with you & get to know you better. I love you very much! I can’t wait until we see each other again. :]

What I wouldn’t have given to experience this. Le sigh. I’m so glad you all had such a great time.

This post made me tear up a little because I feel the EXACT same way.

It was so fun finally getting to hang out with you! And I picked up a little bit of a Northern accent while I was in Vegas, as well. I hope you’re having a wonderful week!

You all bloggers look fabulous AND I love your hair!

Sounds like a wonderfully awesome time!

Oh and I absolutely love your hair!

Man I am so jealous! I would have loved to have a big blogger meet up like that. So much fun!

so beautiful. in so many ways.

Here I am, sitting in my desk at work, unable to really focus yet because I’m still in a haze, and I read this.

And then there are the tears again. I’ve put off writing my recap post because I can’t find the words, and here all of you go and say these beautiful things that express exactly how I feel.

It was surreal to see you in person, to hear your voice, to talk to you, and -as the wine continued to flow- to stroke your hair and arm over and over.

Sorry for all the petting :)

But really, FINALLY! is exactly how I felt. I can’t wait to see you again, hopefully in August!

xoxo :)

bloggers: they’re good people.
:)

Kyla, it was absolutely amazing meeting you and I am forever taken by how articulate you are. Deciding last minute last week that I really did want to go to Vegas turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Thank you so much for the conversation and the chance to meet such an incredible person as yourself. Sending hugs from Los Angeles!

I’m so glad you had a fabulous time! I won’t lie – I’m more than a little jealous that I missed out. I am so there next time :)

I can’t even believe how incredible this weekend was. I’m so, so glad you came out for it and am thankful as hell to have finally gotten to hug you!!

So glad you were able to treat yourself to a little vacation and have so much fun while you were there. Makes me excited for BlogHer in July, when I will get to meet up with a bunch of my favorite bloggers.

Aww, such cute pictures :)

It was so amazing to meet you! The whole thing seems so surreal to me!

Yes, yes, yes! I’m so thankful that this happened because, like you said, there were so many sweet people there. The trip really reaffirmed the belief that there are good people in the world, that love really does exist, and that, regardless of his diverse people are, we’re really not that different, and we can all love each other.

What a great recap of the weekend that you guy’s had! Sounds absolutely amazing and I loved seeing pics! Thanks for sharing :-)

PS: I forgot to tell you how much I love your hair!!

Oh! It looks like you had a fabulous time! (And I’m seeing these vegas posts everywhere and everyone is raving about how great it was!) I’m so jealous, I would have loved to have come!

Sounds so fun and everyone looked really amazing! :) I like how all these bloggers meet up and turn into good friends. I wish I could attend one someday, seeing I’m so far away :)

it was so great to meet you! hopefully next time we’ll get to hang out a little more, but seriously so much fun and glad you made the trek :)

You are so beautiful and I’m so glad we got to meet. It really was surreal and I hope our paths cross again very soon. I will definitely keep you updated, don’t you worry your pretty little self. You are also welcome to email me anytime.

Your photographs look so beautiful. I’m glad you had a great time!

Looks like you all had so much fun, wish I could’ve been there :(

vegas sounds absolutely cool. and cool haircut too. and you and nora look great! awh jealous!

Amazing recap! I loved those photos! I am so sad I wasn’t able to make it, but I’m going to suck all the details out of Steph next time she comes to visit me. :) She said you were the sweetest ever!

This post made me all nostalgic. Um, can we go back yet? Can we? I’m not even kidding.

You are a complete and utter gem – I couldn’t believe when I actually got to meet you. You made me giggle with what you posted on my blog – even if I didn’t say it outloud, I was thinking the same thing. “She knows me! Eeee! I feel so cool now!” And you are just as lovely face-to-face as you are through your writing and photos.

There are many people I wasn’t able to spend NEARLY enough time with in Vegas, and you are definitely one that I wished I could have stolen away with for a while. Next time, deal? Deal.

Thanks for being so sweet, and for being a constant inspiration! Love you!

I’m coming in a bit late (I had some technical issues getting on to comment earlier), but I wanted to make sure to tell you that I had a FANTASTIC time getting to know you in Vegas. It’s like summer camp for adults – all of these people getting together for a short time to have the times of their lives.

These photos kind of make my heart hurt a little. Wish I could have been there. From the sounds of it, it was quite the life-changing experience for many.

So amazing. Really wish I had taken the plunge. One day.

Love the photos, love the captions. Love your plaid top! I realllly wish I could have been there! I hope there’s a next year!

super late comment on this post, but I LOVE how you recapped with the pictures. It was such a joy to meet you. <3
