Hooray for a backyard garden! I have a tomato plant and a lot of herbs growing on my porch, and they are doing wonderfully. It’s really exciting to have things actually growing and surviving, you know? I cannot wait to see how yours is going!

Haha. No need to color code the money — we’ll help you out with it all. (And you can help us when we’re in Canada — I had major issues when I was in Europe with the money…)

Awesome sauce! James and I have just signed the lease on our new place and it’s actually a house!! A really old, wonderful house that we’re actually allowed to do things to!

My first plan is a veggie garden, but it’s kinda mid-winter here. Some things may need to wait until spring. We already grow herbs and limes and thai peppers but I can’t wait until I can pick an entire salad from my garden!

Ohh my Vegas envy just quadrupled remembering that you are going and I am not! Boo! As for being hot- I was worried the first time I went (I think this is a common fear for us Canadian gals?) but like someone above me pointed out- everything is air conditioned. And at night? Well at night when you walk around it’s stunning and lovely and everything you would want Vegas to be. Le sigh.

I love that you plan on getting a drying line. That just gave me good memories of my grandma’s back yard.
And I’m so jealous of all the Vegas fun, but of course hope you have a lovely time! As if there’s even a question about that. :)

My grandfather used to have a garden that spanned a few acres, it was literally my playground when I was little and would walk among the rows of corn, potatoes, and other veggies. He still has a garden but not quite so big. Good luck on your gardening ventures. I hope the pups enjoy their new space!

My roommates and I have been plotting a clothesline in the back! We want the smell and the reduction in our electricity bill! And we’re smack dab in the city as well and I love seeing all the clotheslines in our little row of tickytacky houses!

And I’ll make sure we keep you properly hydrated in Vegas! :) I can not believe it is NEXT WEEK.

Gosh, I’m so surprised that the Vegas trip has come so quickly! I can’t believe it’s next weekend!!!

I envy you that you have a house. Drying clothes on a clothesline, having a garden & a place where Sofie can run around are things that I want so badly. We’re so limited in our apartment. We can barely compost! I guess it’ll just make having a house that much sweeter. :]

I have a fenced-in yard, but my dog can somewhat escape. If I didn’t rent, I’d create a dog run, too. Great idea. And glad to hear you had a wonderful birthday!
