The hair & makeup trial went really well – I brought in pictures of pinup girls and a toned down pinup look is exactly what I got! Check them out!

The flower clip was $6.00 from Etsy Seller Artisansagogo – she was amazing, packaged it up and sent it within 24 hours of my purchase so it could be here in time!
Trying to define what I want for makeup has proven to be excessively difficult. I know that I want my hair up, but my face….I have no clue!! I chose this kind of a look because it’s retro, fun, and a little non-traditional, while still being very classic. It’s the first time I’ve worn red lipstick in my life! The next day I wore it again. That stuff is fun! What do you think? Is it too much of a “look” or does it work?

This weekend has been very busy. I finally found someone who is going to help me assemble by rubix cube of a table loom, and am going for my first lesson on Tuesday, and this Tuesday is also the day that we downsize to being a one car household after a month of waiting to hand the keys back to the dealership.
This saturday is my bachelorette party and then the week after that I’m getting married.
Is it weird that I’m not freaked out or seeing this as a big deal? I wonder when this is actually going to hit me. I think we should take bets.

It’s not weird at all that you are not freaked out. You have planned well and it worked for you. That’s how mine was. People kept asking me in the last week what I still had left to do and I kept saying “Nothing. It’s all done”
You might want to get to that vow writing bit, though. It’s not as easy as one would think. ;)
I think the hair and makeup are awesome! You look gorgeous, but not overly done up, you know? You have also made me consider looking at red lipstick…. My skin is so fair that I risk looking like Robert Smith, but I have always wanted to be able to wear red…

Red lips look great. I don’t think it’s too much of a “look” at all.
Your hair looks fantastic as well. THe updo and the flower is very pretty and chic.

1) Your pictures are awesome! I love the look, the hair, the makeup. It will be fabulous.
2) I think it’s normal that you aren’t nervous yet. I had a bridesmaid dress fitting on Saturday for the wedding I’m in on your wedding day, and my friend the bride was there with me for her final fitting. The seamstress kept saying “Two more weeks! two more weeks!” Mel turned to me and said “They sure don’t let you forget, huh?” I think it hit her at that moment. I also think that not being nervous means you realize you are doing the right thing.
3) Writing your own vows? I want to do that when I get married but I’m not sure I will be able to get through them without blubbering like an idiot.

Kyla, you’re not freaked out because you’re so organized and enjoying the process! Which is pretty ideal if you ask me. Also? GREAT hair :-)

You hair? Looks lovely. So romantic. Perfect for the glowing bride!
And it’s so funny how our one-month out lists look different. And yes, it is weird you’re not stressed! I’m really feeling the stress. So, keep with it and when you’re done, shoot me the good, low-stress karma, ok?!?
